Eric Ogden for The LA Times Magazine

The LA Times Magazine did an amazing article on January 3, 2010 about people who are changing the world with their genius superpowers. Eric Ogden photographed five amazing people who are on the forefront of changing our world for the better. Roboticist Maja Mataric is developing robots for therapeutic healing. Americhip inventors Tim and Kevin Klegg are changing the way we view and relate with media. Sustainability mastermind Peter Gleick is working on finding a solution for the world's water problems. And engineering data master Ares Rosakis is creating a way to make research accessible for all different types of scientists, thus creating possibilites for advancement in countless medical and scientific fields.

Helping a Good Cause

Last February at the Bailey House Annual Auction and Party, over 1,000 generous New Yorkers came together for an extraordinary night to benefit an amazing organization in its effort to provide supportive housing programs for homeless men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS in the New York area. Thanks to many generous donations, they raised $700,000 which has helped continue to fund this worthwhile and necessary organization.

Bailey House’s services are in overwhelming demand due to the current economic climate on the street, but with both private and government funding on the decrease, the organization has needed to find a way to do more with even less financial resources. This is precisely why the success of this year’s auction is critical.

This year, The 2010 Bailey House Auction and Party will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 and will once again be hosted at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC and will be hosted by Simon Doonan and Tim Gunn. Last year was an unforgettable celebration and they aim to make this year’s event even more fun and spirited. It promises to be an evening of art, design, music, great food and an always enjoyable silent and live auction.

We are looking for auction item donations: a photograph or piece of artwork (to be juried), an unforgettable vacation trip, a signed book or script, spa services, dates with celebrities (Anderson Cooper does it every year), gift certificates, anything at all will help immensely!

For the past 26 years, Bailey House has been the leader in addressing poverty and homelessness among people with HIV/AIDS and with your involvement, they hope to reach their fundraising goal of $800,000 this year. Enclosed please find an auction response form.

If you have any questions regarding the auction, please feel free to contact Krista Worby at (212) 475 5565 or via email at krista@exposureny.com.

This is one of the best parties of the year, and I can promise that there will be drag queens!
